Updates on Production

42 Days out: Updates and news

August 15, 2009

Tons of updates in this post:

-Austin: We have secured a site for a second screening in Austin, one that is open the general public. It will be free, and I will post the details as soon as we lock everything down.

-Wash DC: This stop sold out basically immediately once it went on sale, but we may be able to get a bunch of seats to open up. The theater complex may give us the bigger theater, and if they do, like 200+ seats will go up for sale. Of course I will post about this IF it happens. And if there is one stop you want to be at, it is the DC one–ALL my law school friends are coming to that one. Should be a hilarious shit show.

-Extra Tickets: I posted this already, but I will post it again since I get asked about it literally twenty times a day: “At each city, we held back a small number of tickets for press and friends, etc, and if some of these go unused, we can admit other people to the theater. The problem is that we can’t always predict what press will or won’t show up, so if you REALLY want to see the movie, just come to the theater. Chances are we will have at least 5-10 open seats, and though I make NO promises about admittance, if we do have space, we’ll admit you free.”

-New PR contact: I have switched up my PR, so all press inquires need to go here. If you sent a request to the other people and haven’t gotten a response, send a new one to Jeffrey, he’ll take care of it:

-This thing from Craigslist that Gawker posted cracked me up. I know no one will believe me, but I’ll say it anyway: That is not a viral marketing thing, it was real. Or, at least, no one working on the movie did it. And I have no idea if the dude made it in the movie. If you did dude, email me and tell me how it went.

-Here is a video interview Nils and I did with Film.com. It went well because the reporter , Laremy, really did his research. This is part one of four (not sure when the rest go up):

-Three of the radio interviews Nils and I did in Seattle. Nothing all that new or interesting in them, but listen if you are bored:

BJ Shea Show
Bob Rivers
Monkey 104.9

-If you want to follow the tour in real time on Twitter, follow the people below, they are all working on the tour:

Tucker Max (writer/producer)
Nils Parker (writer/producer)
Bill Dawes (MC)
Ben Corman (merchandise)
Charlie Hoehn (gopher)

-Reaction video and some reviews from the Seattle premiere coming tomorrow or Sunday.
