Updates on Production

Public Austin screening added

September 16, 2009

Great news: We have added a free screening open to the public in Austin!! The details:

Galaxy Highland Theater
6700 Middle Fiskville Rd, Austin, TX 78752
Time: 7:30 PM
Date: Friday, September 18th
Cost: FREE

-This is a free show and open to anyone. So get there early, get in line, and we will give out tickets starting at 5:30. Once we reach the theater limit, we’ll stop, and everyone else gets a free shirt or something.

There is bad news. But it’s only for the UT students going to the free screening on campus.

We are still screening the movie at the Texas Union that same day and time, like we scheduled, but none of us will be there to do the show. No pre-show, no Q&A, no swag, no Tucker Max, no Nils Parker, Bill Dawes, nothing extra at all. Just the movie.

Why is this?

You can ask the UT administration, specifically Jeannette Hooker. They were so obscenely difficult and intractable to deal with, we decided to just not do that show. Since the first day they have continued to place ridiculous and onerous restrictions on us, and this week they sent us this additional list of demands:

-We cannot give out the pint glasses or bottle openers in the swag bags
-We cannot get the necessary seats for our invitees (about 30 people)
-We cannot park the bus by the venue
-And the dealbreaker: We are not allowed to film the event.

Seriously, fuck them. We are screening a movie for free for their students, we are giving swag to them for free, and all Jeanette did was pester and annoy our people with bullshit, and then tried to tell us we cannot do our own event in our way. No chance.

Any UT student who wants to see the full show and get a swag bag is welcome to come to the free screening at the Galaxy.

-Austin After Party: There is going to be an official after party in Austin, one that I will definitely be at because we are friends with the owners. I’ll probably get there at around 10 or 11:
